Take Them Home Tuesdays
Today I visited Simpson County Animal Shelter. Why? Because each week I want to feature a pet or pets who have been patiently awaiting a forever home a little too long. This week I had many fur friends to choose from of all ages and breeds since the shelter is very full, I just had to choose two!!!
These guys are Robby and Bobby, a bonded pair! Oh my goodness what a sweet couple of fine fellows. The older male is very friendly and sweet, making advances on leash walking. The younger male is a sweet angel with extreme separation anxiety, he's very shy when approached but just needs that one person willing to give a little extra time to earning his affections. Both are not stingy with those puppy kisses and tail wags. They must be adopted together and the shelter is allowing both to be adopted for $50.

The Simpson County Animal Shelter is open for adoptions Monday thru Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM CST. Adoption Information: 270-586-3125
These guys are already at a disadvantage. They are both already adult and must be adopted together, but many things can effect adoptablity for all our fur friends. Here's something you might not know about adoptions in general.
1) Older dogs are less likely to be adopted in comparison to their younger counterparts
2) Bonded pairs are at high risk because most families are looking for a single pet
3) Black or dark colored dogs and cats are adopted at lower numbers than other patterns or colors
4) Pets with a nervous or careful disposition are often seen as unfriendly
5) Dogs with health issues face incredible odds in adoption
6) Shelters go out of their way to give them all a fair shake
If you think you might be the perfect match for Robby and Bobby please go out and visit them as soon as you can. If you are considering adding a fur kid to your family, the shelter can help you find an awesome new bestie. Remember to adopt, don't shop.
