The Waiting Is The Hardest Part
So you're sitting on the sofa when Fido struts by in all his glory and you realize "holy moly, that dog is stinky!"
So you ring the groomer looking to get this issue handled post haste. Unfortunately they're totally booked for two weeks! Before you get miffed that you can't just pop in when needed, take a moment to consider why you can't just walk in right this minute.
Busy groomers are successful groomers who are widely trusted and are rebooking frequently. A trustworthy, safe, clean, and gifted groomer won't have day of appointments. Luckily, such accomplished groomers are aware that fur kids get into stuff without warning and will try very hard to squeeze you in or put you on a cancellation call list.
We live in an age of convenience, which I often to refer to as McDonald's Mentality. We want what we want when we want it. In pet care that isn't always a wise decision. Jumping the shark and electing to go elsewhere can not only put your pet in danger but also cause issues within the grooming relationship between your fur kid and their groomer. Patience is key.
Some owners might become upset that they couldn't get right in and choose to "call around." That's your right as an owner. However did you, in your exasperation, background check your replacement groomer? Did you ask about their experience? Are you willing to trust your fur kid to a new and unknown person simply because you want what you want right now?

The simple answer to this is pre-booking. If you notice your baby needs grooming every 6 weeks or so, book an appointment for 6 weeks after the current one. A standing appointment eradicates the waiting game and any frustrations you might feel when waiting for an appointment to free up. Remember a booked groomer is busy for a reason. . . they're good.
